According to Star Magazine's print edition on Wednesday, the actor has several family members who are in a dire financial crisis. His entire family, including his parents and his brother and sister have all filed for bankruptcy in the past.
A source close to the actor tells the magazine, "Most of the family has had its share of financial problems. Chris doesn't come from a lot of money. He has worked hard for what he's got."
'Guardians of the Galaxy' Earned $11.2 Million On Its' Opening Night
Apparently, Pratt isn't willing to give the helping hand his family was hoping for as he's built his successful career all on his own and thinks his loved ones should go out and work the same way he has. Despite this though, friends close to the star say he is feeling 'torn' about the situation.
"Chris knows what it's like to struggle with money, but he feels like he worked his butt off and cleaned up his life by himself," the source explained to the magazine. "And that they should be able to do the same."
The source added, "Now that Chris is rich, he feels a lot of pressure to bail his family members out of their money woes. He hates to see them struggle, but he doesn't like the expectation that he'll provide for them financially. The whole situation is a strain on Chris."
Pratt is currently enjoying his success on the big screen as Guardians of the Galaxy ranked in over $90 million in box office sales during it's opening weekend.
