Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Danny Williams (Scott Caan) will have no time to recover from Ian Wright's (Nick Jonas) surprising death before jumping into the premiere, and the team will be forced to deal with a seemingly abandoned island.
"It's like a ghost town," said showrunner Peter Lenkov, according to TV Guide.

Just add a few tumbleweeds and Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) with a six-shooter and McGarrett could solve his problems Western Style.
Instead, the series will go for an entirely Hawaiian approach as Kono (Grace Park) takes to the waves for a surf chase. Who Five-0 is pursuing, and why they are trying to escape via surfboard, remains a mystery.
Meanwhile, viewers will have to wait until episode 7 to receive any answers regarding Wo Fat and Doris McGarrett (Christine Lahti). The series' 100th episode will bring a conclusion to the four-season long storyline.
