Patinkin used to play the part of Jason Gideon and made his debut in 2005 but quit in 2007 as he disagreed with the content of the show. Patinkin walked out in season 3, Tripplehorn's character Alex was a team addition in 2012 and stuck around through season 9 in 2014. But Tripplehorn's exit had nothing to do with creative differences and was rather harmonious.

Recently the actor addressed Patinkin's criticisms in which he stated that the show featured "horrible, mysogynistic, violent activity."

Fox reported Tripplehorn's response:

"I think the show he's doing right now [Homeland] could qualify as pretty violent," she said. "I don't know the relationship he had with the producers and network and I think there's a lot more going on (with Patinkin) that's none of my business."

She also went on to reiterate that the show had changed a lot since Patinkin starred in it.

"It's not the same show that he was on. And I think it's really funny that people are giving it (his view) any kind of attention. The show has moved on," she said.

The second and final part of the season 9 finale, Demons, aired on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
