'Sinister 6' Movie News: Mysterio & Kraven To Be Among Group, Could Eliminate Previously Rumored Name From List [VIDEO]
It looks two of the founding members of the Sinister Six will be joining the ranks for the upcoming movie that will have some of the mightiest villains teaming up together.
'Spider-Man 2' Actor Open To Reprise Role For 'Sinister Six'
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb announced via a bonus feature for the movie that two of the Sinister Six villains would be Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter, who were also two of the founding members of the group when it was formed in 1964.
Neither villain has appeared in a Spider-Man movie yet with other rumored names to be joining including Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Green Goblin and Rhino.
Will Someone Rise From The Dead In 'Sinister Six?'
In the comics, Mysterio is Quentin Beck, a special effects wizard and stunt man working for a major Hollywood studio with dreams of making a name for himself in the film industry. However, he came to see his career in special effects as a dead-end job. His attempts to become an actor were poorly received, but he realized that his expertise in illusions could make him an effective supervillain.
In his first battle with Spider-Man, after he frames him for robbing the Midtown Museum, Mysterio obstructs the hero's spider-sense with gas and dissolves his webbing with a chemical abrasive. However Spider-Man tricked him into revealing he robbed the museum, then revealed he had captured it on tape. Mysterio was then jailed, blaming Spider-Man for his ruined career.
Kraven the Hunter's real name is Sergei Kravinoff. He is a Russian immigrant, the son of an aristocrat who fled to the United States with his family in 1917 after the Russian nobility was decimated by the February Revolution and subsequent collapse of the reign of Tsar Nicholas II.
Kraven is a maniacal big game hunter who seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, he typically disdains the use of guns or bow and arrows, preferring to take down large dangerous animals with his bare hands.
Having both of them in the film will be fun to see as they have yet to appear in movies and are two of the more classic Spider-Man villains. But with those two being added, and Vulture and Doc Ock already practically confirmed, will there be enough room for everyone?
It seems like the line-up right now is Mysterio, Kraven, Doc Ock, and Vulture with two more spaces left for either Green Goblin, Venom, or Rhino. It would seem that maybe Green Goblin and Rhino would get the spots with Venom popping up in his own film later on.
Sinister Six is set to open in theaters on November 11, 2016.
