Evelyn Lozada Is To Blame For 'Ochocinco' Name Change, Fans on Twitter Approve
Evelyn Lozada is responsible for her husband, NFL player, Chad Ochocinco, and his surname change to "Johnson." When the two married on July 4, 2012, Lozado took on Ochocinco's original name, but may have pressured him to return to it also. Nevertheless, a fan on Twitter spoke for many when she said his name was unimportant.
"'Johnson' 'Ochocinco' 'Johnson' always my 'Chaddie'. What's in a name? Love ya to death!!!" @85mom wrote.
Ochocinco later retweeted the message adding: "Hey... Love you to death..."
When the news of the NFL players name change was first reported, many speculated Lozada had a role in the decision.
OCNN reported: "The main reason behind the name change was due to his marriage to Evelyn Lozada. The couple preferred Evelyn's last name to be a real name and not the fun "Ochocinco" character we have come to love."
"He's changing his name back to Johnson because his wife wasn't feelin it. #Whipped" @nicol_please wrote on Twitter.
Chad changed his surname from 'Johnson' after sporting the number 85 as his uniform number for his Cincinnati team. Many fans welcomed the quirky change.
Ochocinco and Lozada will be living Miami since the NFL player recently signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins.
