Some artists have won a number of VMA's in the past while others are still pending to win one.

Childish Gambino- "3005"
The artist, whose real name is Donald Glover, was nominated for an MTV VMA in 2012 for Best Hip-Hop Video. His other hits include "Heartbreat," "Bonfire" and "Freaks and Geeks."
Drake ft. Majid Jordan- "Hold On (We're Going Home)"
Drake has been nominated for several other MTV VMA's and won one with Lil Wayne for the hit "HYFR." Drake's other hits include "Started From the Bottom," "Believe Me" and "Forever."
Eminem- "Berzerk"
Eminem is nominated for six other MTV VMA's this year, including Best Visual Effects, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Collaboration and Best Male Video. He's one several MTV VMA's in the past, his most recent in 2010 for Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Video for the hit "Not Afraid."
Kanye West- "Black Skinhead"
This is Kanye West's only nomination at the MTV VMA's this year. His most recent win was in 2011 for Best Collaboration featuring Katy Perry for the sing "E.T."
Wiz Khalifa- "We Dem Boyz"
Wiz Khalifa was nominated for two other MTV VMA's in the past, one in 2012 for Best Pop Video ("Payphone") and one in 2011 for Best New Artist ("Black and Yellow").
