MTV VMAs 2014 'Best Male Video' Winner Is Ed Sheeran For 'Sing'
Ed Sheeran took home the MTV Video Music Award Best Male Video Moonman for "Sing" on Sunday.
Pulled from Sheeran's album, x, "Sing" snagged the honor over four other contestants.
The video follows a puppet version of the British singer as he spends a night on the town, culminating in the puppet's reunion with Sheeran and producer Pharrell Williams.
The 2014 Best Male Video category was also home to works by Eminem, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, and Sam Smith.
Eminem's and Rihanna also landed a spot with "The Monster." Pulled from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the video was directed by Rich Lee and is also nominated for Best Collaboration and Best Direction.
John Legend's relationship-based video for "All of Me" was also in the running on Sunday. The third single off of Love in the Future, the "All of Me" video focused on Legend's relationship with Chrissy Teigen and incorporates footage from their wedding.
Pharrell Williams found a radio hit with "Happy" and the song's video took off as well. Originally 24-hours long, the We Are From L.A.-directed project was later pared down to four minutes for YouTube.
Lastly, Sam Smith received a nomination for "Stay With Me." Coming from the British musician's debut LP, In the Lonely Hour, the video was also up for the Artist to Watch award.
