Things are getting pretty "horrifying" over on the set of Showtime's Penny Dreadful, both on camera and behind the scenes.

"Working on storyboards for Season Two," tweeted director James Hawes on Monday, "Turning magical scripts into pictures…Horrifiying!"
Earlier in the week Hawes announced on Twitter that they'd done some location scouting for the drama, meaning the colorful cast of characters will be entering some dark new territory during at least the second half of the season.

Penny Dreadful, which began filming a second season at the beginning of August, films on location in Ireland. While production is good for the Irish economy and the landscape certainly suits the show, filming away from home isn't always all its cracked up to be.
"Glamorous life working overseas on #Penny Dreadful," declared producer Christopher King on Twitter Friday. "Spending the morning at immigration getting my work permit."
King included a sullen selfie, which showed him standing in the hallway with over a dozen people sitting in the background, waiting to file their paperwork.
While many of the extras and some of the crew are native to the area, many of the producers and actors are from England or different parts of Europe. A few, most notably actors Reeve Carney (Dorian Gray) and Josh Hartnett (Ethan Chandler) are also from the United States.
Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for its second, longer season in 2015.
