According to True Detective Rumors on Saturday, the HBO programming director has only good things to say about Pizzolatto's work.

'True Detective' Season 2 Casting Rumors Spin Out Of Control
While Pizzolatto has suffered a lot of controversy, from plagiarism to sexism over the last two months, the network is thrilled with the work he is producing and proud to be a part of the series. Pizzolatto write every episode last season, and will be doing so this year as well.
"The writing is better than last season," boasted Lombardo, "It's exceptional."
Having started nearly two months ago, casting for the program's second season should be coming to a close pretty soon, though no formal announcements have been made just yet. The new storyline will be taking True Detective to California and involve more conflict with the government than the show's Louisiana-based first season.
It is uncertain exactly when True Detective will return to television, though it's possible the series will move to take Boardwalk Empire's fall slot as the prohibition drama comes to an end this year.
True Detective returns to HBO for a second season in 2015.
