A war is brewing for Season 2 of The Originals, but behind the scenes the cast and crew of The Originals is as close as can be.
Bodies & Fists Are 'Flying' In 2nd Season Of 'The Originals'
A new trailer for the series came out on Monday, but instead of promoting the 30-second preview, the cast has instead opted to boast the Tuesday release of Eternal Night, the debut novel by The Originals writer Carina Adly MacKenzie.
"Go check out my buddy @cadlymack's book," declared actress Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) on Twitter Monday. Tonkin uses her Twitter presence sparingly, posting every few weeks to support entertainment or charities that mean a lot to her.
Klaus 'Jumping At The Bit' In New Episodes Of 'The Originals'
Star Joseph Morgan (Klaus) also encouraged fans to pick up a copy of the book. "A real page turner with a chilling opening and epic end," he tweeted that same day.
While Tonkin and Morgan weren't saying anything about the new CW trailer, Mackenzie took it upon herself to promote the teaser, tweeting, "the first shot of this new #TheOriginals trailer is really something."
Though brief, the trailer does manage to pack a lot of story into 30 seconds. "This is a vicious place," warns Klaus as the trailer opens, "Your enemies are everywhere."
The trailer goes on to promise new hybrid drama, family reunions, and shifting alliances as the supernatural community in New Orleans goes to war.
The Originals returns to The CW with for a second season on a new night Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
