ABC's fantasy series Once Upon a Time looks to be capitalizing on another recent successful Disney movie on the upcoming fourth season of the show.

Once Upon a Time Hook & Rumplestiltskin Rivalry Will 'Rear Its Head Again' In Season 4

Kristin Bauer van Straten, who has just finished up her fan favorite role as Pam on HBO's True Blood, is set to return to Once Upon a Time, reprising her role of Maleficent. The actress will be returning in the second half of Season 4, according to a new report by Entertainment Weekly.

The report claims that she will return as part of a "big arc," which could suggest that she is the villain of the second half of the season, or at least one of them.

Maleficent was actually killed in the Season 1 finale by Emma (Jennifer Morrison), but she came back with a vengeance as a zombie in Season 2.

With the return of Maleficent, it seems to go hand in hand with the breakout success of Disney's summer blockbuster Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie. The film, which tells the story of Sleeping Beauty from her point of view (with some extra twists), went on to become one of the summer's most popular films.

The film has grossed over $230 million domestically and over $500,000 worldwide, putting its grand total at $747,602,294 as of Wednesday. It is the fifth most successful movie of the year in America.

Once Upon a Time will first be using the success of Disney's other recently huge hit Frozen in Season 4, with the inclusion of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Hans and Pabbie, the elder troll.

Once Upon a Time Season 4 is set to premiere Sunday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
