'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' News: Nebula Almost Had Different Look In Concept Photos With Gamora, Could See Extended Role In Sequel [VIDEO]
While she was just a secondary villain in the first movie, it seems like Nebula could be headed for more screen time in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, but she also almost looked very different according to new concept art.
Thanos' Son Could Battle Guardians of the Galaxy & Set-Up 'The Inhumans' In Sequel
Portrayed by Doctor Who's Karen Gillan, Nebula was the sister of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), helper of Ronan (Lee Pace), and daughter of Thanos (Josh Brolin). But she also carried a different look in concept art shared by Marvel artist Andy Park.
Park took to Twitter to share a bunch of different images of Nebula that they had in the pre-production stage before finalizing the look that Gillan had in the movie. It seems like Nebula would have carried a much more warrior look in the early stages with lots of added weapons instead of the very reserved and small weapon look she had in the movie.
Howard the Duck Could Be More Important In 'Guardians 2'
But the early look also had the character showing off a lot more skin than the actual incarnation did so Marvel must have held back a little.
Gillan was a bright spot in the first movie and is set to most likely re-appear in some capacity in the sequel and could also play a sizable role moving forward due to her relationship with Thanos and his over-arching role as the main villain of the Marvel universe. The artwork also showed off early stages of Saldana's Gamora, which like Nebula, seems to have clothed up more in the final incarnation.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to open in theaters on July 27, 2017.
