'Terminator 5' News: 'Genisys' To 'Remind Fans Why They Fell In Love' With The Original [VIDEO]
As the filming of Terminator: Genisys wrapped this month, Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that the movie will remind fans why they fell in love with the original (1984).
The actor announced that filming was done via his Twitter account writing: "Hasta la vista, baby. Thx to cast & crew. Can't wait to remind fans why they fell in love with."
While there has been a lot of debate about if Genisys will be a reboot, Schwarzenegger's statement suggests that it will deinfitely pay ode to James Cameron's 1984 original.
Teaser Trailer For Terminator: Genysis To Release Soon?
Recently, a new report revealed that Terminator: Genysis will not be a reboot or have much to do with the James Cameron original, as had been suggested in the past.
The Terminator Fans elicited a response from Sydance Productions that is backing the movie, to the rumors of the fifth instalment being a retelling of the first.
"@ilikefights @TerminatorFans @Terminator @ParamountPics We agree! None of Cameron's original story needs to be retold. That's not the goal," the production company tweeted in reponse to the website starting a conversation about Genysis being a contemporized version of the 1984 movie.
Until very recently, the film was being called Terminator: Genesis before, so the small change in spelling to Genisys won't be tough for fans to latch on to. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is reprising his role as the iconic cyborg, revealed the name change along with revealing that production for the movie was through, earlier this month.
The movie is being directed by Alan Taylor and also stars Jai Courtney, who will be playing Kyle Reese, and Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) will be playing Detective Cheung, who will "arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017."
Terminator 5 is scheduled to release in July 2015.
