'The Originals' Season 2 News: Hayley To Experience A 'Crippling Rage And Depression' Over Losing Her Daughter [VIDEO]
With the return of The Originals just a month away, The CW has released a tantalizing official synopsis for the show's second season.
'The Originals' Films New Scenes In 'Hotlanta'
The CW confirmed that Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) are still struggling in New Orleans after the loss of baby Hope. Hayley will be having a particularly difficult time, both as a mother and a new hybrid.
"As she adjusts to life as a hybrid," explains the statement, "Hayley experiences crippling rage and depression after saying goodbye to her daughter."
'The Originals' Heads 'Deep In Nature' For Episode 206
The network also revealed some new insight into Cami's (Leah Pipes) storyline for season two. It seems the psychology student will try to return to a focus on her studies, though it remains unknown as to whether she will be successful in cutting ties with the supernatural world.
Klaus' father Mikael (Sebastian Roche) will don a big role in upcoming episodes, though his continued status as a "guest star" suggests that he may not be around for long.
Perhaps most menacing is the return of Mikael's wife Esther (Alice Evans). According to The CW, she is "fueled by a consuming and twisted love for her children as she devised a disturbing plan to reunite her fractured family-a plan that involved until torment not only for the Original siblings, but for any and all of their loved ones."
The Originals returns to The CW for a second season on a new night: Monday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
