Iggy Azalea was unanimously crowned as this year's Queen of Summer as Fancy was the Billboard's Song of the Summer.
Why Did Iggy Azalea Initially Turn Down Ariana Grande?
As if it was a competition. Azalea's song was absolutely dominating this summer's charts. It reigned at no. 1 of the Songs of Summer Chart for the entire 14-week tracking period. The period lasts from holiday to holiday, starting with Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day. The last song to shut out the rest of the competition was Katy Perry's California Gurls featuring Snoop Dogg, according to Billboard.
Fancy featuring Charli XCX has remained in the Hot 100 Chart for 25 weeks. The song finally fell out of the top 10 and is now at the no. 11 spot. As if it was not enough, Azalea also claimed third place with Ariana Grande's Problem, which features the Australian rapper. For the first five weeks the song debuted, it was ranked below Fancy each time. It must be weird trailing your own tail. The only two artists to be at no. 1 and no. 2 were Usher and The Black Eyed Peas. This makes Azalea the first female artist to have two songs in the top three.
