'Sinister Six' Movie News: Vulture Will Be An Oscorp Employee, Could Face Spider-Man Right Before Final Battle With Doctor Octopus [VIDEO]
With the heavily teased inclusion of the Vulture in the Sinister Six movie, it would seem that the winged villain will be swooping down to fight Spider-Man during the movie. But could the villain be a familiar face from the franchise already?
One Villain In 'Sinister Six' Could Be Set Up For Expansion In 'Amazing Spider-Man 3'
In the comics, Adrian Toomes was a former electronics engineer who was once the business partner of Gregory Bestman. Bestman's betrayal of Toomes led to the inventor becoming Vulture.
Vulture first encountered Spider-Man when he was on a robbery and burglary spree throughout New York City. Spider-Man realized for the first time he could sell photos to J. Jonah Jameson after the Daily Bugle offered a reward for a picture of Vulture.
Could The 'Sinister Six' Plot Center Around Individual Fights With Spider-Man?
He joined Doctor Octopus's first Sinister Six, and gave the message to the Daily Bugle that they had captured Betty Brant. He was the last foe to battle Spider-Man before Doctor Octopus. He forced Spider-Man to remove his web-shooters by threatening to fly away, then squirted oil onto the roof, and tried to push Spider-Man off using a wind created by his wings, but Spider-Man escaped this.
The Vulture was caught after Spider-Man swung onto him using a lasso the Vulture had tried to use against him. He then told Spider-Man where to find the lair of Doctor Octopus, and like the rest of the team was jailed by the end of the story.
This seems like a logical course for the Vulture to take with the exclusion of working for Bestman, but instead Oscorp. With the company housing the wings already, it would make complete sense that Harry Osborn uses one of his employees as the face of the Vulture moving forward.
Sinister Six is set to open in theaters on November 11, 2016.
