‘Full House’ Revival: Bob Saget Says ‘Not Everyone’ Would Want To Do It, Hints He Won’t Return If Project Is Green-Lighted? [VIDEO]
News that Full House could be revived and catch up with the extensive Tanner family two decades after the show stopped producing original episodes made several 90s kids ecstatic-but if the new show is made, some of the most key characters in the show could wind up not coming back.
'Full House' Revival In The Works?
After the news broke last week that the show could be coming back, Bob Saget, who played neat-freak patriarch Danny for all eight seasons, hinted that it wouldn't be the same show anymore, because not everyone wants to go back to the show after so much time away from it.
"Not everybody would want to do it. Maybe two-thirds of the cast would want to," he told People back in April. "John [Stamos] is such a good guy, and I think he would want it to happen in some way if it could. There's some stuff going on, I don't get involved in it, where people were trying to put some energy into it...[But] I don't think it will happen in a way that it would be everybody."
His comments appeared to hint that at the time, he may not have been interested in coming back to the show if it was brought back with a modern spin, but he, along with Stamos (Uncle Jesse Katsopolis), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler) have all been said to now be involved in the project in some way.
However, Lori Loughlin, who portrayed Aunt Becky, may not be a part of the show as she is busy with her own series on the Hallmark Channel called When Calls the Heart. Also rumored not to be returning are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who took turns portraying the youngest Tanner child, Michelle as kids.
There has been no confirmation on whether or not the show would be brought back.
