Usher Stepson Funeral Set For Friday
The funeral for Kile Glover, Usher's stepson, has been confirmed for Friday in Atlanta.
Glover passed away last weekend after being taken off of life support two weeks after his tragic ski accident.
The funeral will be held on Peachtree Road at the Wieca Road Baptist Church at 11.am.The arrangements for the services will be conducted by Willie Atkins Funeral Home, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Glover, 11, was struck in the head by a jet ski while riding an inner tube with a 15-year-old female friend in lake Lanie in Atlanta. Glover and the unidentified 15-year-old were both taken by helicopter to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston following the tragic accident. Kile was declared brain dead while the 15-year-old suffered from a broken arm and a cut on her head.
Usher reportedly made sure a chartered airplane was immediately made available to her so she could fly in to be close to her son when the tragedy happened earlier this month.
"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family said in a statement. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."
The driver of the rented jet ski, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard of Atlanta, is a family friend and was identified as being responsible for the accident. TMZ reported that an investigation is underway and so far no charges have been filed.
Kile was the biological son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster and Atlanta television executive Ryan Glover.
Prior to the accident, Usher and Foster were in the middle of a legal custody over their two biological children. Since the accident, Usher has suggested that they settle with his original offer of joint custody with increased child support. According to several reports, Usher has held off on continuing the battle as he is being sensitive to her needs at this sad time.
