The popularity of Frozen has yet to generate a feature length sequel to the hit animated movie from last year, but Disney wants to let fans re-visit the world in a short film that will be coming out next year.

Who Are Your Favorite Onscreen Sisters?

Walt Disney Animated Studios announced on Tuesday that an animated short film follow-up, called Frozen Fever, will be released in Spring 2015 and will bring back all of the main characters.

Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf are set to return but no word yet if Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad will return to do the voices of the characters. Songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez will reunite to pen a new song for the short and directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will helm it.

Elsa Will Be Explored 'As A Person' on 'Once Upon a Time' Rather Than With A Love Interest

The short will be about Elsa and Kristoff teaming up to do something special for Anna's birthday, but obviously Elsa's icy powers get in the way.

Frozen has already generated spin-offs in the form of appearances by the main characters in the live-action ABC fantasy show, Once Upon aTime, and subsequent sing-along programs. ABC also released a behind-the-scenes show that premiered this week.

As of now, no feature film sequel is in the works with Disney hoping to milk out their latest money maker with smaller venues before returning it to the big screen. A Broadway play is in the works with the possibility that the main cast could return for that.
