‘Magic Mike 2’ Cast News: Cody Horn Confirms She WON’T Be Returning For Sequel, Says ‘There’s No Room For A Girlfriend’ In New Movie [VIDEO]
The first official cast member not returning for the Magic Mike sequel has been confirmed, though the omission from the film appears to have something to do with the character not fitting into the story.

Cody Horn, who portrayed Adam's (Alex Pettyfer) older sister Brooke-who became the love interest for Channing Tatum's Mike, confirmed she wouldn't be returning for the sequel, Magic Mike: XXL while walking the red carpet at the Estee Lauder Modern Muse event on September 3.
"I'm not in it," she told Vanity Fair. "The story to the sequel was kind of always around, and there's no room for a girlfriend in that."

"Of course I'm bummed, but we spent a lot of time talking about it, and I completely agree that it does not make sense to have Brooke in this movie," she added.
Though she couldn't speak for other cast members, two other originals from the 2012 hit have been rumored to not be a part of the sequel either-Matthew McConaughey, who portrayed strip club owner Dallas, and Pettyfer.
Neither one has spoken out about whether or not they could in fact join the sequel, though McConaughey's role was reportedly written out for also not fitting into the storyline as well.
As for Pettyfer's character, he could not appear in the film due to drama on the original film's set between him and Tatum.
"Alex is dying to reprise his role, but Channing is on the fence," a source told OK! Magazine in July. "It's going to take a lot of sucking up for Alex to get his part back."
The source also reportedly said that Tatum found the 24-year-old actor to be too cocky and difficult to work with.
OK! also reported on the fight between the two actors back in 2012, saying at the time that Tatum forbade Pettyfer from attending the cast's cover shoot for Entertainment Weekly.
"Those around them tried to mend their relationship, but Channing doesn't want anything to do with Alex," a source said at the time. "Channing said he didn't want to do [the shoot] if Alex was there. Alex is known in Hollywood for being rude and difficult."
Magic Mike: XXL hits theaters July 1, 2015.
