Minka Kelly Sex Tape Silence Is a Dignified Response to Porn Video Rumors
Minka Kelly has been remaining graciously silent on the sex tape rumors surrounding her. Despite accusations from a past boyfriend that he is willing to sell a sex video of her to the highest bidder, the actress has chosen to maintain her dignity and not rise to the accusations.
The sex tape is being touted out by a former boyfriend of the actress, who claims it features Kelly in the video with him.
The tape is a 30 minute video, and has caused waves of controversy in recent days. Some have said that if the video does feature Kelly then she may be underage in it.
The video tape has been classified as "semi-professional" by TMZ, and although it is not confirmed whether the person in the video is in fact Kelly, it does appear as though the woman is unaware of the presence of the video camera.
Various media outlets have claimed this to the fact, and the woman in the video is said to be an "unwilling participant" in the sex tape according to various commenters.
Many people are pointing to the fact that songs can be heard on the video featuring music by singer Brandy. The music is from her 1998 album Never Say Never, and was in fact released more than two weeks before Kelly's 18th birthday, leading many to believe that if the woman in the video is Kelly, she is under 18 at the time. That would make the video fall into the classification of "Child Pornography."
Kelly is best known for her roles in Charlie's Angels, Friday Night Lights and The Roommate. In Charlie's Angels Kelly played the role of street racer Eva French. The pilot was filmed in March 2011 and the series was picked up later that year.
Charlie's Angels premiered in September 2011 and initially received a large audience of nearly 9 million viewers. However, the series was hugely criticized by media and analysts, and even though the show was supposed to run for 13 episodes ABC decided to pull the plug on the show following just the fourth episode due to extremely rock bottom ratings.
Some have said that if the sex tape is proven to be true it could spark Kelly's career in a similar way as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have experienced. However, latest reports seem to indicate that Kelly could made a successful career without the need of a pornographic sex tape. She has reportedly joined the cast for new film "The Butler." The film will be directed by Lee Daniels with a screenplay by Daniels and Danny Strong, and will focus on telling the story of Eugene Allen, who was a White House servant from the Truman years through to the reign of Ronald Reagan.
The film is setting up an all star cast and is looking to be one of the hottest new movies in the making. Kelly will take on the role of Jackie Kennedy, according to Deadline.com.
The actress will join a host of Hollywood stars in the cast. Already confirmed to have signed up for the project include Forest Whitaker as Allen, Oprah Winfrey as Allen's spouse, Robin Williams as President Dwight D. Eisenhower, John Cusack as President Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, as well as Cuba Gooding Jr, David Oyelowo and Lenny Kravitz.
New names now emerging to have been added to the cast list include Liev Schreiber as President Lyndon B. Johnson, Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower, James Marsden as John F Kennedy, as well as Mariah Carey, Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer, Yaya DaCosta, Elijah Kelly, and Jesse Williams.
