Agents of SHIELD fans won't have to wait until January to see Peggy Carter return to the Marvel universe - the Captain America character will drop by in the season 2 premiere.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 2 Premiere Title Announced, What To Expect

Titled "Shadows," the upcoming episode will pick up in the wake of last spring's tumultuous "Beginning of the End." While Coulson's continuing battle against HYDRA opens up the chance for a WWII flashback, it is unclear how Hayley Atwell's character - whether she is young or old - will play into the premiere.

"Agent Carter takes place in the '40's. That said, I know Marvel will find some way to connect our shows but I don't know how," Gregg told The Wrap over the summer (via Yahoo Movies). "She's a terrific actress so I'm praying for a time travel episode but I doubt that'll happen, That's been one of the fun things about this, to have Agent Coulson rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D., it'll be interesting to see how much that'll involve him recruiting and crossing over to those shows."
