Longmire continues to search for a new network after A&E cancelled the series following the Season 3 finale. According to recent talk, however, it looks like the show might find a home on USA.

Age Of Audience Might Have Influenced 'Longmire' Cancellation

Recently CarterMatt listed USA as a viable option for a number of reasons. While the network has made a name for itself with original content, its new shows haven't been doing well this season and even their most popular programs haven't been off to the best start this summer.

Longmire could help USA boost ratings. Viewership for Longmire when it was over on A&E, even at its lowest, was still might higher than the total number of viewers for any original show already on USA. For a while CarterMatt had considered TNT a contender, but unlike USA it wouldn't need Longmire for the ratings.

The Cast Of 'Longmire' Keeps Busy With New Projects

USA could also benefit from a guarantee. Longmire has the audience. It has the fan base. With the execution of a pilot starring Jennifer Carpenter from Showtime's Dexter, the network doesn't have much lined up for the future and will have a major hole to fill after the series finale of White Collar. When that happens, the only ratings USA will be able to count on will be for the witty legal drama Suits, and even that hasn't been doing as well this season.

If Longmire returns for a fourth season, it will likely do so during the second half of 2015.
