Carly Rae Jepsen Beats Lady Gaga's Billboard Record; Gaga Warns "I'M COMING FOR YOU"
Pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen has broken Lady Gaga’s Billboard Hot 100 Record, E! News reported on July 26.
Her hit “Call Me Maybe” is currently in its seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, beating Gaga’s 2011 hit, “Born This Way,” which was on top for only six weeks.
Gaga, 26, posted on Twitter, “@carlyraejepson I SEE you just swooped in and broke my BORN THIS WAY record of the most weeks at #1. DON’T GET COMFORTABLE IM COMING FOR YOU.”
Jepsen also holds more time at the No. 1 spot for a song longer than any other female solo artist in Interscope Records’ history, according to Hitfix.
“Call Me Maybe” continues to lock out Maroon 5’s “Payphone” from the top of the list, keeping it at No. 2 for the sixth week in a row. Jepsen’s success comes around the same time she was involved in sex tape rumors and reported to officials that naked pictures of her were allegedly stolen from her computer. The singer, 26, is a protégé of Justin Bieber’s and recently performed at the Teen Choice Awards.
