'Ted 2' Movie News: Morgan Freeman Joins The Cast As A Former Civil Rights Lawyer Tasked At Helping The Bear Out [VIDEO]
It seems like Seth MacFarlane has brought in the high profile he wanted to do a silly role in his upcoming sequel to the hit comedy Ted. But it probably won't feature any of his voiceover work.
'Family Guy' Star Set To Return In Larger Role For 'Ted 2'
Variety reported on Wednesday that Lucy and The Dark Knight Rises star Morgan Freeman is set to join the cast of Ted 2 in a "juicy role." The site added that Freeman would play an iconic civil rights lawyer who comes into the picture when Ted needs to resolve some legal issues.
Plot details are still under wraps but they added that Seth MacFarlane, who is back writing, directing and voicing the titular vulgar teddy bear, was said to be looking for high-profile actor to join the cast in a fun role and showed interest in Freeman from the start.
More Action Could Be In 'Ted 2' After Mark Wahlberg Shows Off Ripped Body
Freeman joins returning member Mark Wahlberg and newcomer Amanda Seyfried as part of the live action cast. Patrick Warburton is also coming back in a similar role to the first movie.
Ted 2 is currently shooting in Boston and is rumored to have a plot centered around John (Wahlberg) and Ted going on a road trip, which could lead to some legal issues.
Freeman has had a busy year with voice work in The Lego Movie early this year, a small role in the summer hit Lucy, and the upcoming Dolphin Tale 2 on his plate. Seeing the actor take on a comedic role in this movie though should be a big draw for viewers.
Ted 2 is set to open in theaters on June 26, 2015.
