Actress Kelly Macdonald (Margaret Schroeder) took some time at the event to talk to some members of the press, including Arthur Kade front In The Lab NYC (featured below). During the interview the Irish-born actress dished a little on playing the same character over the last five years, as well as how that character has changed and what it's been like to say goodbye.
"It was very difficult," admitted Macdonald about finishing production for the prohibition drama. "I mean I didn't realize how emotional it would be at the very end."

Margaret Schroeder, now Margaret Thompson, has been one of the program's most dynamic characters over the years, though the actress didn't know she would change so much when the series first began.
"She's complicated…" explained Macdonald. "We filmed the pilot and the her story went on and I didn't quite know ever what she was gonna do next, but it's been really nice now we're finished to look back at the range of character she was."
Macdonald referred to her experience on the program as "a role of a lifetime," adding with a laugh, "though I'm hoping I get other roles after this."
As for what's next, the actress admitted that she has "no idea" what she will be doing next. However, with a resume that includes such hits as Boardwalk Empire and the 2007 Academy Award-winning film No Country For Old Men, it's unlikely that Macdonald will have trouble finding more work now that filming for the program is over.
Boardwalk Empire continues on HBO with its fifth and final season Sunday, September 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
