'True Detective' Season 2 Casting: Elisabeth Moss' New Broadway Role Could Confirm 'Mad Men' Star Out Of The Running For HBO Drama [VIDEO]
Actress Elisabeth Moss has remained pretty vague when it comes to rumors that she will appear in the second season of HBO's True Detective. With a release date sometime in mid-2015, however, Moss' public schedule may rule her out as a contender.
Find Out Who Is Directing Season 2 Of 'True Detective'
While production for Moss' popular AMC series Mad Men has already wrapped, filming for True Detective has yet to begin. In fact, casting doesn't even seem to have finished yet. At the moment Moss is out promoting her new film The One I Love and as the last few episodes of Mad Men's seventh and final season approach in early 2015, the actress will likely shift gears and begin press for that.
So when would the star have time to film True Detective? Perhaps in the spring? It doesn't seem likely.
'True Detective' Gets A Release Date For 2015
On Thursday Variety announced that Moss has signed on for the revival of The Heidi Chronicles on Broadway. The Wendy Wasserstein play will begin just after Mad Men airs its series finale, with previews beginning in February and the production formally opening in March.
The star's recent commitment to the play could suggest that she's off the roster as a True Detective contender, or perhaps was never really involved in the first place. Moss has, after all, refused to confirm or deny any of the rumors surrounding her and the HBO drama.
True Detective returns to HBO for a second season in mid-2015.
