'Penny Dreadful' Series News: Things Get 'More Outrageous' For Season 2 Of Showtime Drama With New Ferdinand Lyle Scenes [VIDEO]
Things are getting "more outrageous" on the set of Penny Dreadful as the Showtime series continues production for Season 2.
New Character To Make Debut In 'Penny Dreadful' Premiere
On Thursday, producer Christopher King teased some time on set with actor Simon Russell Beale.
Reeve Carney 'Loves' His New 'Penny Dreadful' Costumes
Beale, who appeared in Season 1 as the eccentric Egyptologist Ferdinand Lyle, was bumped up this season to a series regular along with actress Helen McCrory (Madame Kali). This means Beale's bound for more screen time, perhaps bringing some color to the program's dark world.
Director James Hawes has been boasting an equally, if not more stressful, experience on set in comparison to King's teaser.
Hawes is likely referring to a number of new cast members, including Douglas Hodge (Robin Hood) Johnny Beauchamp (Stonewall).
With details on Beauchamp's character still vague, he could be sharing a scene with the mentioned Reeve Carney (Dorian Gray) on Friday as a potential love interest, or at least a new acquaintance.
Dorian's heart was broken by Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) at the end of the show's first season and the character will be getting a new companion for season two. Another possible candidate for this role could be Cork actress Sarah Green, who will be playing the daughter of McCrory's character
Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second, longer season in 2015.
