Recent rumors indicated that the man behind Patrick Jane would helm two episodes during the drama's final season, but series writers recently confirmed that Baker would only take on the one.
Baker usually spends his time in front of the camera as the FBI's resident faux psychic, but the Australian actor spent mid-September directing as well. The series wrapped work on Baker's episode, "The Silver Briefcase," on Monday.

"I had an absolute blast working on [writer Jordan Harper] and #SimonBaker episode of #TheMentalist episode 705," tweeted technical adviser Karl Sonnenberg. "Can't wait for this season to air!"
"The Silver Briefcase" marks Baker's fifth time helming a Mentalist episode. The actor has directed one episode per year since season 3, and his previous credits include "Red Moon," "Blinking Red Light," "Red Sails in the Sunset," and "My Blue Heaven."
