Jenelle Evans has received some intense criticism for having a second child when she has yet to get custody back of the first, but MTV's Teen Mom 2 star assured fans this weekend that she is taking responsibility for her children.

Since five-year-old Jace continues to remain under the custody of Evans' mother Barbara, many were critical when Evans elected to have another child, this time with boyfriend Nathan Griffith.

At the present both Griffith and Evans live together with baby Kaiser, who was born to his proud parents on June 29, 2014. Even as Evans and Griffith continue to post numerous pictures of their little family, some have made accusations that Kaiser is not in their care.

On Twitter Sunday, Evans decided to set the record straight.

Following the declaration, however, critics jumped to scrutinize the mother of two.

Over the last week Evans has mentioned a potential custody battle over Jace in the coming months, though she has insisted the last thing she wants is to create problems between her and her mother.

Teen Mom 2 continues on MTV with new episodes of its fifth season Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
