'Longmire' Season 4 News: Cancelled A&E Drama Could Find New Home On USA As Network Joins The List Of Contenders [VIDEO]
Ever since producers announced that they'd begun to shop Longmire around with new networks, fans have been speculating as to who would save the series after it was dropped by A&E.
'Longmire' Gets A Whole Lot Of 'Love' From The Cast This Week
It looks like USA might just be back in the running. According to CarterMatt on Saturday, the network has joined the list of serious candidates. Though producers have only formally acknowledged bringing the popular crime drama to Amazon and Netflix, the momentum USA is gaining might just be enough to bring the two together.
In spite of the program's loyal following, A&E decided to cancel Longmire last month after three seasons. Showrunners had not known what to expect in terms of a fourth season, as was evident when they decided to end with a cliffhanger as what could be the "series finale."
'Longmire' Cast Is 'Waiting' On Big News For Season 4
Fans were surprised at the network's decision to discontinue the show, especially since the program was A&E's highest-rated scripted series and its second-highest-rated series behind the popular reality show Duck Dynasty.
If Longmire does return for a fourth season on a new network, it will likely do so sometime during the second half of 2015. This would, however, require some fast action on the part of other networks and if the show fails to secure a new home soon, it might just be the end of the beloved drama.
