'Survivor' Season 29 Spoilers: Reed Reveals His Tribe 'Misplaces' Their Flint In Episode 2, Big Focus On Survival Elements [VIDEO]
In the new trailer for the next episode of Survivor: San Juan del Sur, there is a curious focus on the survival element of the show rather than the strategic element.
Jon, Wes & Natalie Among Candidates For Who Quits The Game on Survivor
The next episode of Survivor, titled Method To This Madness, features the Hunahpu (blue) tribe losing their flint, and subsequently their ability to start a fire. As such, there is a negotiation at the challenge arena that goes down in the episode.
The trailer previews, "The loved ones are battling each other and the elements."
New Survivor Contestants Would "Totally Vote Out" Their Loved Ones; Others "Couldn't Do It"
Tribe member Reed Kelly explains in front of everyone at the arena, "Our tribe seems to have misplaced our flint."
Host Jeff Probst cannot believe this information.
"The tribe with two firemen... really?" he asks, referring to firemen Jeremy Collins and Keith Nale.
Surprisingly, there isn't a single scene that has to do with the strategic game in the promo. This is actually quite a change considering how strategic-focused the show has become over the years. This promo actually harkens back to the first few seasons of Survivor, which had a pretty even balance of survival elements as well as the strategic/social game.
It might be a slow week in the strategy department, based on the promo, though it's possible that losing the flint could lead to somebody being voted out from the game.
Survivor: San Juan del Sur airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
