Scott Michael Foster, who plays Leo on Chasing Life, dished on what it's like to play a dying character, giving some insight on what's going to happen next.

Chatter On Leo & April's Kiss On 'Chasing Life'

On Saturday, YA Magazine posted a live interview with the actor who mentioned that it's not easy playing Leo, and that the show takes on a different approach to the character.

"To play someone who's diagnosed with a terminal illness like a brain tumor that Leo in Chasing Life has was difficult to try," Foster admitted. "I mean, first of all, you have to do it with some subtlety and I think the writers of the show did a really good job of making sure it wasn't a perceived role doctor type, you know- ER meets Grey's Anatomy type thing."

Could Leo Wind Up Dead On 'Chasing Life?'

The actor added that the show has more of a "realistic look" at people who have to deal with serious conditions like his character does. He also revealed that he has to be sensitive when it comes to playing Leo because there's a chance that he may not live for that long.

"It's not necessarily hard for me to play a character with an illness like that, but kind of like I said before, you definitely want to stay sensitive to the topic, which is, honestly, that you might die young," the actor said.

This might cause some to wonder exactly how long Leo will be sticking around for.

Chasing Life is expected to return this December to ABC Family.
