One Direction Olympics 2012: Niall, Liam, Harry, Zayne and Lewis Possibly Performing At The London Games Closing Ceremony
Although it has not been 100% confirmed as of yet, the British boy band sensation One Direction may indeed be performing at the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
According to MTV, the teenage heart throbs are expected to take the world stage on August 12th for the ending festivities. Sources say that the buzz over the performance has been rising by the minute.
According to the Daily Star, a source on June 17th had the following to say regarding a future 1D London Olympic Games performance:
"The main theme of the Olympic closing ceremony will be celebrating the best of British music, so it's only right that One Direction are opening the show, said the source.
"They are the UK's biggest music export at the moment behind Adele, who is also rumored to be involved in some way. It's all top secret and the boys aren't allowed to talk about it but they are thrilled. It isn't every day you get the instant exposure of performing in front of a billion people," the source continued.
It has also been reported that close friend Ed Sheeran will also take the stage for the event, as well as other notable acts such as The Who, Queen and the Spice Girls.
