Jennifer Love Hewitt, who is the newest addition to the cast of season 10 of Criminal Minds, revealed that her character Kate Callahan will have a "sweet connection" with David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) on the show.

New Stills Feat. Kristen Vangsness and Shemar Moore Amp Up Hype For Premiere

The actress spoke to Entertainment Weekly about joining the show, her character, and her dynamic with other actors on the CBS procedural. When asked about Callahan and Rossi being paired together the actress dished about how the duo work really well together, and that she would also be getting along with Hotch (Thomas Gibson).

"In the beginning, Rossi is who she's with the most. I'd say Rossi and Hotch (Thomas Gibson) really are the people she's with. I always say she's like the Barney Fife to Hotch's Andy," she said. "She gets really excited to go where he tells her to and be at his side in that way. She and Rossi have a really sweet connection. They have a lot of respect for each other and really enjoy working side by side. I've gotten to do a little bit of stuff with Morgan (Shemar Moore) recently, which has been fun. I obviously work with everybody, but those three characters in particular seem to be where I am. Hotch and Rossi are the first two to know Kate's background story, so they're very kind to her and supportive of her own personal life story."

David Rossi's Second Wife To Appear In A Flashback In Season 10

Recently, Mantegna recently posted an adorable behind-the-scenes photo featuring him and Hewitt.

The actor put the image up on his Twitter account and Hewitt is seen puckering her lips as she poses with Mantegna.

"Working with @TheReal_Jlh today. Yes I'm a lucky guy!" Mantegna tweeted.

Hewitt's character Kate Callahan was also brought in to fill the void left by the exit of Dr. Alex, who was portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn in the last chapter.

Season 10 will premiere on CBS on October 1.
