As for the actual plot of Season 3, Kerman was tight-lipped though she cosigned show runner Jenji Kohan's previous statement that it will be about faith.

"One of the things that Jenji Kohan has said about season 3 already on record is that an exploration of faith is a big part of what she is planning and what they have scripted so far," Kerman said.

Kerman also spoke about her original crime that landed her in prison.

"I absolutely regret my crime," Kerman admitted. "I think that while I'm so grateful to have found readers and I'm thrilled with the Netflix show, the truth of the matter is that prison is a deeply traumatic experience."

Orange is the New Black Season 3 is expected to begin streaming in Summer 2015. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
