With the ever so growing popularity of the E.L. James novel "Fifty Shades," there has been increasing speculation as to who will encompass the racy role of Anastasia Steele in the future film.

According to the New York Daily News, Harry Potter's Emma Watson had been previously reported to be the front runner for the Steele character, as the beautifully innocent Brit was said to be "a hot favorite to be chosen by producers Mike de Luca and Dana Brunetti."

Unfortunately, Watson shot down the gossip by making the following comments in regard to a future role, according to Entertainment Weekly:

"There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' - I never even saw a script!"

"I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing," Watson revealed.

Watson went on to defend herself further against the swirling racy movie rumors.

"The thing is I'm not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement," Watson said.

The sexually explicit "Fifty Shades" trilogy revolves around a 22 year-old college graduate Anastasia Steele, who gets herself into a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with 27 year-old billionaire Christian Grey, through an "agreement," as both explore the world of bondage, dominance, submission and masochism.

The "Fifty Shades" future film is currently in development at Universal.
