It is probably difficult to try and twist the arm of Reed Richards as it would be going all over the place, but it was even more difficult to do so for actor Miles Teller to take on the role. But according to him, it worked out in the end.

Speaking with MTV on Wednesday, Teller talked about the process he went through before getting the role of Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four reboot and what director Josh Trank had to do to convince him.

"It took a lot of convincing. For me with Reed Richards, I know Josh really had to [pull for me]," Teller said.

"Josh did for all of the characters. For Jamie (Bell), he really vouched for [him]. For Mike (B. Jordan), he was like, 'This is my guy' from the bat. He was very specific on who he wanted to play these characters. I was his guy for it."

He also talked about the controversy around the casting of Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch and why people will be blown away by Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom.

"I think it's great. It is a big thing. You're changing the race of a character. It's like, 'Why couldn't the Human Torch be black?'" Teller said. "I think people are really going to dig what he did with it. (Kebbell) is just a good actor."

With production wrapped now, the special effects work is being done before the August 2015 release of the film. The film also stars Kate Mara as Sue Storm.
