Abby Lee Miller News 2014: ‘Dance Moms’ Star Gets Surprisingly Sentimental About Her Childhood [VIDEO]
She might be one of the most controversial reality stars on television these days, but it looks as though Abby Lee Miller might have a soft side to her after all. Miller, who has been accused of being "too emotionally harsh" on her students, got uncharacteristically sentimental on her Instagram account on Sunday.

During a trip to her hometown, Miller revealed that she was saddened by coming home to the empty house that she used to grow up in.
While posting a photo of her mother and father on her social networking account, she also captioned it with, "Every time I return home from a trip, I dread walking into my empty childhood home. All is quiet, nobody to welcome me, to lick kisses, or even to yell at me about where I put my suitcases! #mom #dad #broadwaybaby."

Just recently, Miller opened up about her mother, Maryen Lorrain Miller, who died at the age of 86 back in February after a long battle with colon cancer.
Even though it's taken her quite some time to confirm her engagement, Miller admits that she won't be officially tying the knot soon, as she is still mourning the death of her late mother, who passed away earlier this year. Miller does admit, though, that she and Padula "rushed" their engagement for her mother.
"We rushed into things because my mom was ill," she said on the Wendy Williams show back in June. "I think it was kinda like she would be at peace if she knew I had someone to take care of me."
While not much is known about her fiancé, it's been reported that Padula, a former West Hollywood ballroom and Latin dance instructor, has starred in Neurotica, a short film about patrons in a gay bar, and is a very active member of the Los Angeles gay community.
