Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) are about to be stuck together in a precarious environment on an upcoming episode of CBS's The Big Bang Theory.

CBS has released a plot synopsis for The Big Bang Theory's sixth episode of this season, titled The Expedition Approximation. In the episode, Sheldon and Raj go to extreme lengths in the matter of dark matter research.
"Sheldon and Raj test whether they could survive a dark-matter research expedition in a salt mine by simulating the conditions in a steam tunnel," the synopsis reads. As most anyone on The Big Bang Theory, being stuck in an isolated area with Sheldon Cooper for an extended period of time is a recipe for disaster.

The episode will also have some relationship drama with the newly engaged Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting).
"Leonard and Penny seek advice from Wolowitz [Simon Helberg] and Bernadette [Melissa Ruach] after they fight about money," the synopsis continues.
This episode is set to air Monday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
In other Big Bang Theory news, ratings have gone down slightly from the Season 8 premiere's big 18+ million viewership. Monday night's episode of the sitcom received about 15.5 million viewers. Despite the decrease, it is still TV's most viewed comedy.
The Big Bang Theory airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The series will be switching back to Thursdays at 8 p.m. at the end of this month.
