Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is not worried about the finale of the FX drama potentially disappointing viewers.

Sons of Anarchy Final Episodes Are About The 'Psychology' Of Jax In Mourning Death

Sutter recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the tricky aspect of concluding a show that many people love. While some endings have been praised almost universally (Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under), others have been publicly flogged, with longtime fans upset that they even invested in the show in the first place (Lost, How I Met Your Mother).

Regardless of public pressure, Sutter is ending Sons of Anarchy the way he wants to end it, in a way that fits the motorcycle drama.

"I can't worry about what the perception is going to be, I just have to tell the story," Sutter said. "I know how I want it to end, and that's the way I'm going to end it, and however it lands in terms of the landscape of things, that's the way it will land. As long as I know I'm telling the story that I intended to tell, then I know that I've been organic in terms of the narrative and didn't compromise the vision, I can feel good about it going in. That's the perspective I think you have to have."

There has been some debate on how Sutter and company will choose to end the seven-season drama. The series has been compared to the Shakespearean tragedy like Hamlet, which famously ends with almost every single main character dying. With the series having such a high body count up to this point, the idea that numerous main characters could be wiped out by the end is within the realm of possibility.

It is possible that Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and his mother Gemma (Katey Sagal) could be headed for an epic showdown, considering she brutally murdered his wife Tara (Maggie Siff) and still hasn't fessed up. Sutter has previously said that only two club members die in the final season, so it won't be a full bloodbath, but the death of Gemma could be the dramatic conclusion some fans are looking for (she is a polarizing figure in the SOA fanbase).

However, Sutter may have something entirely different in mind as the saga comes to end. There is still a lot of season left to go, so anything could happen.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
