The upcoming episode of season 10 of Criminal Minds will be slightly different from what fans are used to seeing on the show, featuring a more dramatic case of a plane crash.

This will be a big one for the BAU to crack, but the team will get on it and most likely solve it. The premise of the episode, entitled A Thousand Suns, hints at it being some kind of terrorist plot, as the attacker orchestrates the crash from a remote location, derailing the plane from its course and nosediving it to its fatal end.

The CBS procedural's executive producer Erica Messer recently spoke about the episode and dispelled rumors of terrorism.

She told TVFanatic that while it would seem like terrorism, that was not actually the case.

"The second episode is more of the same and then the third episode is a little bit of a departure because we're doing a massive plane wreck and it turns out it's not terrorism the way you would anticipate it...visually it feels like a feature and we really went big and we usually don't go that big that early in the season for a number of reasons but CBS was very much behind it so we went for it," she said.

Season 10 premiered on CBS on October 1.

Episode 2, will air on October 15.
