With six rounds to an episode, the Battle Rounds pit singers from each team against each other. Winners advance to "The Battles, Round 2" (previously the "Knockout Rounds") while losers are either stolen by another coach or eliminated completely.

Team Pharrell Williams opened up the night's competition with a face off between Taylor Phelan and Jordy Searcy, which was won by Phelan's rendition of the Script's Breakeven. Searcy was ultimately sent packing when she failed to make the cut with another coach. Searcy was Team Pharrell only cur of the evening, and Mr. Williams later managed to complete the only steal of the night when he plucked Menlik Zergabachew from Team Gwen Stefani.

Coach Adam Levine and Coach Blake Shelton weren't quite so lucky, however. Levin said goodbye to Joe Kirk and Clara Hong in order to save Alessandra Castronovo and Rebekah Samarin while Shelton chose to keep Grant Ganzer and Tanner Linford at the cost of John Martin and Justin Johnes.

Like Pharrell, Coach Gwen only had two singers on the chopping block, and the pop star elected to save Troy Ritchie over Zergabachew.
