On October 6, the International Business Times speculated the couple calling it quits. We already know that the two are merely keeping up a facade of marriage to further their political and professional ambitions, but this reports question might hold water, as once Alicia gains political clout and wins the coveted position of State's Attorney she might not realy on Peter's clout as much, thufs freeing her from keeping up the pretense.

The preview video for the upcoming episode, entitled Oppo Research, of season 6 of The Good Wife shows Alicia agreeing to run for state's attorney.

The clip begins with Alicia informing her mother that she is thinking of running for State's Attorney. Cut to Eli (Alan Cumming) laying out the groundwork with Alicia's new campaign manager, who is played by Steven Pasquale. The duo is scouring through Alicia's closet for skeletons that might pose as a threat to her, making her a soft target by the opponent.

Alicia looks a bit bemused when Eli is seen handing over a file of things from her past that could get her in trouble during campaigning. "That's a lot of skeletons," she sighs. Her campaign manager also informs her that her brother, who is gay, and her son, Zach could also be problematic.

So Alicia is finally entering the political arena. And this won't mean that fans will stop seeing in lawerly mode as a partner in Florrick/Agos. In September, TVLine revealed that Alicia wouldn't need to choose between running for State's Attorney and being a partner at Florrick/Agos as she can keep both jobs at once. Co-creator Robert King told the publication that she can keep both jobs as Illinois election rules allow for that. King stated that as season 6pivots to politics, Alicia's work as a lawyer won't be "left in the rear-view mirror."

Episode 4 of The Good Wife will air on October 12 on CBS.
