The second Amazing Spider-Man movie was handed poor reviews and lackluster audience responses, but still set up what Sony hopes will be their own cinematic universe. But the movie also left some questions unanswered that may hint at what the studio wants to do in the future.

Spider-Man To Cameo At The End Of 'Captain America 3' To Join The MCU?

In the movie, a host of villains are teased with Oscorp clearly housing the powers of such super villains as Doctor Octopus and Vulture, but as it heads into the third movie will any of these bad guys cause issues for Spider-Man? It seems like Sony wants to introduce and use them in the spin-off, Sinister Six, but could these movies overlap?

It is possible giving that Spider-Man may be apart of the Sinister Six movie as he gains the aid of this villain team to fight an even bigger foe that causes problems for all of them, but at the end will this villains be locked up or let free? It seems likely that they will run free and a few could give Spidey problems in Movie 3.

Could A 'Community' Star Take Over For Andrew Garfield As Spider-Man?

Another question surrounds the return of Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy, who died in the second movie, but with the actress teasing a return of some kind, she could make her way back in the story. Stone was one of the shining moments of the rebooted franchise and bringing her back would make sense, but the third movie also could be answering the third question, who is Mary Jane Watson?

With actresses such as Jane Levy and Anna Kendrick rumored, or even the original choice Shailene Woodley, it would seem that Mary Jane is coming to be the next girlfriend to Peter Parker.

The fourth question comes from a side character that was briefly used within Oscorp, but was later thrown away: Felicia Hardy. Played by Felicity Jones, Hardy was briefly introduced as the secretary of Harry Osborn, but was not given much to do around that. While naturally the character turns into Black Cat, one has to wonder if that happens in the third movie.

The last question circles are what Sony wants to do with this character. Rumors have swirled around that they may let Marvel use him some while they try and establish movies around him, while others say Andrew Garfield could be re-cast for another actor.

Either way, Sony should have this question answered by the third movie, if there is one, or maybe Marvel could have control of the character and this cinematic universe would go to bust.
