'American Horror Story' Season 5 News: Kathy Bates Already Offered Part In 2015, 'It's Getting Hard To Refuse' [VIDEO]
While Jessica Lange has not changed her mind about leaving FX's American Horror Story after Freak Show, one of the show's other legendary actresses seems to want to keep going.
Kathy Bates, who is currently playing bearded lady Ethel Darling on American Horror Story: Freak Show, said that she already been asked by AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy to return for Season 5.
"I love getting these fantastic characters to play," Bates told E! Online at the show's premiere, in a video posted Wednesday. "And Ryan's told me that he wants me to come back next year and it's getting hard to refuse, let me tell you! Everything's grown so much even since last year. It's amazing. I can't believe it."
While this is not an explicit confirmation that Bates will return for Season 5, it seems likely based on the overall positive connotation of her response.
If Lange really does leave the series ahead of Season 5, Bates could be the perfect person to assume the lead position in her place. She has already proven herself since joining the show for American Horror Story: Coven, winning the Emmy in August for her performance as Madame Delphine LaLaurie.
Meanwhile, in Freak Show, Bates' Ethel Darling is shocked to see the return of her ex-husband Dell Toledo (Michael Chiklis), who rolls in to the freak show in Episode 2 with his new wife Desiree Dupree (Angela Bassett), who just so happens to be a hermaphrodite with three breasts.
American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesday nights at 10/9c on FX.
