‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5: Morgan Returns As Writers Reveal ‘Big Plans’ For Character, ‘Stay Tuned’ [VIDEO]
After the first episode of Season 5 of The Walking Dead, if fans stayed for an extra scene after the credits, they would have seen Morgan Jones (Lennie James) notice funny marks on a tree.

The tree marks were behind the Terminus sign that had been made by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to read "NO Sanctuary."
After the highly-watched episode, AMC actually posted a run-down of it and mentioned a time-jump in the extra scene.
Season 5 Returns With New Characters After Show Renewed
"Months after Rick's escape from Terminus, a masked stranger marches down the railroad tracks. He stops to see the Terminus sign Rick modified, and hangs his head. He removes his mask. It's Morgan."
The writers had previously mentioned that Morgan would be very involved in Season 5. Writer and producer Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly that Morgan could be in "better shape [than before], but he's on the road, he's alone. You never know, we've got to see him interact with people. He could still be a loon. But yeah, he's on their trail."
He also said that Terminus is actually helping him stay on Rick and company's trail. "It's certainly a question as to whether he'll meet up with them, or when he'll meet up with them," Kirkman said, "but we've got a lot of big plans for the character of Morgan, so stay tuned."
The Walking Dead airs on AMC at 9 p.m. ET on Sundays.
