'James Bond 24' Movie Rumors: Penelope Cruz Not In Running For Bond Girl Role? 'Pirates of the Caribbean' May Keep Her Out [VIDEO]
While it has been long rumored that one famous Spanish actress could be joining the cast of the next James Bond film, it seems like another franchise could keep her from seducing 007 and it may be on the seven seas with her husband.
Is This 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Star Headed To Face James Bond Next?
With the news earlier this week that former Bond villain Javier Bardem is being courted by Disney to play the main bad guy in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, it could mean the end to the rumors of Penelope Cruz being in Bond 24.
Bardem, of course, played the main villain Silva in Skyfall for director Sam Mendes but it was rumored that the director was next looking at Bardem's wife, Cruz, to take on the main female role in the next movie. But with Cruz already tied down to do Pirates and a possible shooting date coming soon, it could mean the couple may elect to be together on the Disney set.
Daniel Craig May Have Met His Match With This Actress Joining 'Bond 24'
Cruz was among the names that included Kate Upton, Cara Delevingne and Rihanna who were in contention for the main female role in the next Bond movie. Cruz was a heavy favorite ever since the movie was announced following the success of Skyfall two years ago.
As of now casting is underway with the latest addition to the team being Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista, who joins the cast as the evil henchman Hinx. Lea Seydoux also joined as a femme fatale earlier this week, but reports said there was still some more female roles to be cast.
Bond 24 brings Daniel Craig back as Bond and is set to open in theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.
