One of the creators of Twin Peaks is hoping to bridge the gap between the presumed series finale in 1991 and the upcoming 2016 revival by releasing a new book.

Is Ray Wise Returning For 'Twin Peaks' Revival Series?

Mark Frost, one of the co-creators of Twin Peaks, is set to catching viewers up on what everyone in the strange Pacific Northwest town has been up to with a new book, The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks.

Frost tweeted out a press release Thursday from the book's publisher, Flatiron Books, revealing that The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks will be released in late 2015. The fictional book "reveals what has happened to the people of that iconic fictional town since we last saw them 25 years ago and offers a deeper glimpse into the central mystery that was only touched on by the original series," according to the press release.

Frost made the deal with Flatiron Books president Bob Miller, who announced the news on Thursday. Commenting on the deal in the press release, Frost said:

"Bob Miller and I have enjoyed a fantastic fifteen year relationship in publishing. This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new. I couldn't be more thrilled."

A specific release date beyond "late 2015" has not yet been announced, though it will be on sale ahead of the show's return on Showtime in 2016.

David Lynch is returning with Frost to write nine new episodes of Twin Peaks, which will air on Showtime. Lynch is also directing the entire season. It is described as a limited event series, though it's always possible that Showtime could convince Lynch and Frost to produce more content.
