'The Originals' Season 2 News: Producer Caroline Dries Reveals Which Characters She'd Swap From 'The Vampire Diaries' & Spin-Off Series [VIDEO]
As a spin-off The Originals has naturally had many overlapping characters with The Vampire Diaries, which has led to much talk of crossover episodes for The CW dramas.

Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena on TVD, is slated to appear as Tatia in Episode 5 of The Originals this fall, but if given the chance for another character swap executive producer Caroline Dries knows exactly who she'd pick.
"I would want Rebekah [Claire Holt] in a heartbeat," Dries told The Wrap this month in listing who she'd want to bring to TVD.
'The Originals' Gets More Bloody Than Ever With New Episodes
As for who she'd hand over to The Originals, the producer needed to take a moment in deciding. "Um, I would probably give them Stefan [Paul Wesley]," she said at last. "I just really like the Stefan-Klaus relationship. They can go on a little romp together."
More Stefan and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) action might also create an interesting dynamic for TVD character Caroline (Candice Accola), who has feelings for Klaus and recently admitted to feeling something for Stefan. Klaus and Stefan also have a long history on TVD, which could make for some interesting play when it comes to morality and Elijah's [Daniel Gillies) attempt to save his brother from himself.
Considering the fact that Wesley is dating The Originals star Phoebe Tonkin, who plays new hybrid Hayley, the actor might enjoy hopping over to the spin-off.
The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
